As the title of the novel suggests, the story depicts the life and times of Jesus, as he and his family set out on a turbulent journey from Alexandria, Egypt, to their hometown of Nazareth in Palestine. The first scene showcases the spectacle of Jesus, just a boy then, striking to death a bully who shoves him to the ground. Minutes later, the bully is breathing again, thanks to a holy resurrection.
